We spent most of our second night in Sydney trying to ensure the neighbors can get some sleep. That day I decided to change tactics and take a short siesta with the kids. The plan worked very well, except for the “short” part. We woke up in the late afternoon, much revived but disappointed by the fading daylight, and hastily drove to the botanical gardens, hoping to see the flying foxes in action.

It was already after sunset when we got there, and the gates were locked, but we could still enjoy a squadron of flying foxes on the background of a beautiful full moon. On our way back to the car we encountered a large possum hurrying up a tree! Using extremely high ISO setting and manual focus, I managed to capture a blurry image of the shy marsupial, to share the excitement with Lilach.
On Friday we headed west to Featherdale Wildlife Park, where we enjoyed watching, petting and feeding many local species.
