Homeward (August 15-17)

Before leaving Hotel Savegre, we went up to the Mirador in the reserve one last time and I performed and recorded a Shito-Ryu Kata (Matsukaze), to send to the dojo according to our tradition of sharing a kata video from every trip abroad.

The road to the airport was uneventful. Returning the car was swift, and we had more than enough time to purchase extremely overpriced chocolates at the airport “duty-free” shop. We landed in Madrid on August 16, totally jet-lagged, and went to sleep a couple of hours as soon as we got to the hotel. We spent the afternoon and evening walking in beautiful Madrid, eating an excellent Pizza and chatting with the owner of the place (turned out that his family was from Salerno, but he had been born in South America before moving to Madrid). The next day we took a flight back home to Tel Aviv, to meet the whole family and return to the sad reality of a senseless war in Gaza and a fanatical government working with our worst enemies to turn this corner of the planet to ruins. Until the next trip…
